The EPA established the National Lead Laboratory Approval Program (NLLAP) to recognize laboratories that demonstrate the ability to accurately analyze paint chips, dust, or soil samples for lead. Lead from paint, including lead-contaminated dust, is one of the most common causes of lead poisoning.

SLGI was the first laboratory to receive AIHA-LAP, LLC accreditation for the analysis of lead based paint chips, soil, and dust wipes under the EPA’s National Lead Laboratory Approval Program.

SLGI is also certified by several states for the analysis of lead in drinking water. Lead contamination in drinking water is a problem that threatens children’s health nationwide.
